We observed the monkeys eating their own feces. We couldn't find where they had any food or water.
The monkeys were in a cage with essentially nothing to entertain them. While we were there the girls went over to visit the monkeys caged off on one side. Upon arrival you come into the front office/gift shop. From a high level overview the parks seem to be the same. The experience had been so amazing that we decided we wanted to take all 3 of our girls on an adventure at this park. My wife and I had previously taken our youngest to a wildlife park similar to this in Gentry, AR. I asked where the animals came from and did not feel I got a straight answer. Signage about the animals could definitely be improved. The reptile house was interesting, but somewhat lacking. Don't miss the two giraffes in their own enclosure so sweet. To the contrary, we were surprised that the lions were so active. Unlike another reviewer, we did not find the animals lethargic. I imagine that for a place like this in a harsh and diverse climate like this it is an ongoing project to keep everything in tip-top repair. There were a few empty cages in the Walk-About area, but mostly not. Another advantage of the shuttle is that everyone has an opportunity to sit by an open "window" and move from side to side to feed the animals. We drove and stopped at least as much as one would in a car, but the animals are used to the bus coming and that is a plus. In addition to explaining how best to feed each animal type, a guide points out and shares knowledge about the many different animals.

The driver over the 5-mile road was good and knowledgeable. We decided to do the shuttle and are glad we did. In theory the ticket allows one to do both, but we didn't have that much time. We debated on driving our own car or going on the shuttle. The experience can get pricy, especially as you will want a lot of feed, especially with youngsters along. That is also where one buys food to feed the animals.

We bought our tickets online, but still showed our receipt with the QR code at the ticket counter. We especially loved feeding the elk bulls and getting an up close picture with them from the window.I am not sure why the title choices are for Skip the Line. My husband even had a great time and he tends to get quite impatient with the kind of outings I plan for the kids, but Daniel kept him entertained with hunting conversation.
We got an extra long tour and he didn’t rush us at all.
When the kids ran out of our 3 feed bags, he shared his bucket with them, and they went right on feeding. He was patient with 3 extremely excited kids who were here and there back and forth on the bus. Daniel was our bus driver and he really made the trip! My husband and him talked deer hunting on the bus drive, and he knew all the animal names, cool facts, and let us ask him all the questions in the world! He stopped a great deal to let my 3 kids feed every animal they desired, let us get pictures, and even watch the bucks fight for a good deal of time. On the tour, we ended up being the only ones on the bus, my family of 5. While we waited and the kids ogled over everything in the gift store, the lady at the front gave the kids some left over trunk or treat candy and let them hold and pet one of the piglets she had in the shop. We were the only family, and just a few singles came in and bought the drive through tour. It didn’t take quite an hour for us to see all the walk about animals, but it was also an empty park. My 3 kids: 8, 5, & 2 years adored it! They each got to feed and pet animals. The walk through was great with baby camel and giraffes following us along the fences and all animals eager to accept the food and follow you down the fences. The lady told us to grab one and do the walk through and after that, it’d be perfect timing to take the tour bus through the riding part and take the rest of the bags. Upon arrival, I bought the package deal for 4 bags of food. They were currently waiving the upcharge for using a ticket purchased same day. We took a shot on the safari, and boy are we glad we did!! I called before going because I saw you could buy a family ticket online and save. Wonders of wildlife was requiring masks, so instead of complying, we decided to do something else.

We decided to check out the wild animal safari when we were on a trip visiting Bass Pro in Springfield.
